Meet Julie

A teacher who meets you where you are.

Julie's relationship with movement started long before yoga. She trained as a dancer first, then spent years teaching students of every age and ability how to feel more comfortable in and appreciative of their own bodies. That patience and care shows up in every yoga session she leads.

Over the years she's worked with one-on-one clients in their homes, high school athletes looking for flexibility and focus, older adults practicing in chairs, friends gathering for evening sessions, and women working through difficult seasons of life. The thread running through all of it is a simple belief: healing begins with self-compassion, and real change happens gently, when someone is actually listening.

My credentials include a YTT 200 certification for professional yoga training, a Trauma Sensitive Yoga Training certification, and a BFA in Modern Dance with a Physical Education minor.

I booked Julie for a group yoga practice and asked her to cater the principles she’d be teaching to a friend who was struggling with some hard and painful things.

I was so impressed with Julie’s preparation and the quality of material she had for us. She completely designed the session around the person who was struggling. She taught so many things that would help and support that person.

The words she spoke were meaningful and inspirational to all of us and the class was so beautiful. No one wanted to leave! It was such a lovely evening!

"I am an 80+ year old woman and I have never done Yoga before. I was reluctant to do it until Julie encouraged me and showed me some exercises I could do for the pain I was experiencing in my shoulder.

When it helped, I decided to try her class. She comes to my home for private chair yoga sessions. Julie is so patient and understanding of my level of ability and very caring. She is helping me with my mobility and my confidence."

"I have been taking private yoga classes with Julie for several months and I love every session! She takes her time and does some soul searching as well as research to come up with poses to help me with my situation.

The environment is very warm and welcoming. She watches and makes sure I'm doing the poses correctly and if not, she gently corrects me. I struggle with hypertension before ketamine treatments and have been turned away a few times. If I take a class from Julie before treatment, I get much better numbers before an injection.

I recommend her for whatever's going on in your life and or body, she along with work on your end will help immensely!!"

“I have always been frustrated with yoga because my joints are so tight, but Julie was the kindest teacher I have ever experienced.

She taught me to go only as far as a gentle stretch and made me feel like my best was ok and that I can actually do yoga after all. She is a supportive, gentle teacher“

“Julie was an incredible introduction to yoga for me. Before working with her one-on-one, I had attended one of her group yoga classes and immediately appreciated her knowledge, warmth, and teaching style. Our individual sessions went far beyond learning yoga poses. Julie helped me explore the principles of yoga through thoughtful coaching, giving me practical tools to better understand my thought patterns and the habits that were holding me back.

With her guidance, I was able to identify meaningful changes I could make in both my mindset and daily routines, helping me build healthier patterns and a stronger sense of well-being. I felt incredibly safe opening up and sharing my honest self, allowing us to do meaningful work together.

Julie was consistently prepared, thoughtful, and intentional. Every session had a clear purpose and built naturally on what we had worked on previously, making each meeting feel personalized and progressive. I was able to leave each session with new tools I could immediately put to use. The things we worked on have made a lasting impact in my life, and continue to serve me today.

Her unique combination of movement, mindfulness, and coaching created an experience that was both empowering and transformative. I would wholeheartedly recommend Julie to anyone-- whether you're brand new to yoga, an experienced practitioner, or simply looking for an insightful and compassionate coach.“

"As a coach, I'm always looking for ways to help our players grow-- not just as basketball players, but as young men. Working with The Whole Center has been a tremendous addition to our program.

Our players have benefited from improved flexibility, greater range of motion, and better recovery, but what has impressed me most is the emphasis on mindfulness, learning to slow down, be present, and better understand how to care for their bodies.

The Whole Center has made a real difference in our program, and we're grateful for the positive impact they've had on our team. I would highly recommend them to any athletic program or organization looking to invest in the overall well-being and performance of their athletes."
